Overview
HEF4094 is an 8-stage serial shift register. Each register stage has a storage latch for clocking data from the serial input to the parallel buffered 3-state outputs QP0 to QP7 on the positive clock edge. The parallel outputs can be directly connected to a common bus. Data is shifted on the positive clock edge. When the strobe input is HIGH, data in each shift register stage is transferred to the storage register. When the output enable is HIGH, data from the storage register appears at the outputs. The device provides two serial outputs for cascading multiple HEF4094 devices. Serial data QS1 is valid on the positive clock edge for high-speed operation in cascaded systems with fast clock rise times. The same serial data QS2 is valid on the next negative clock edge for cascading HEF4094 devices when the clock rise time is slow. The operating supply voltage range is 3V to 15V. Unused inputs must be connected to VDD, VSS, or another input.
