HEF4538BT(LX)

The HEF4538 is a dual retriggerable/resettable monostable multivibrator. Each multivibrator has a low-level active trigger/retrigger input (nA), a high-level active trigger/retrigger input (nB), a low-level active direct reset input (nCD), an output (nQ) and its complementary output (nQ), and two pins for connecting external timing components CEXT and REXT (nREXT/CEXT and nCEXT, the latter always connected to ground). Over the specified temperature range, the typical pulse width variation is ±0.2%. The multivibrator can be triggered by either the rising or falling edge of an input pulse, and produces accurate output pulses with pulse widths ranging from 10 microseconds to infinity. The duration and accuracy of the output pulse are determined by external timing components CEXT and REXT. The output pulse width (tW) is equal to REXT × CEXT. Linear design techniques in LOCMOS (Locally Oxidized CMOS) ensure precise control of the output pulse width. A low level on the nCD pin immediately terminates the output pulse. The recommended operating supply voltage VDD range is 3 V to 12 V (with respect to VSS, typically ground). Unused inputs must be connected to VDD, VSS, or another input.
