HT97220(L) is a differential/single-ended input, direct-drive headphone amplifier/line driver. At 5V supply, the device delivers 125mW output power into a 32Ω load. Gain is adjustable via external resistors (an internal fixed 6dB gain version is available upon prior customization). The device achieves excellent THD+N performance across the audio bandwidth. Two startup time versions are available: the headphone application version has a startup time of 4.2ms, while the set-top box version (available upon prior customization) has a startup time of 130ms. An integrated charge pump generates a negative voltage; the output stage of the amplifier is powered by the positive supply and the charge pump output. This dual-supply configuration biases the output at zero potential, eliminating the need for the large, distortion-prone output coupling capacitors required in conventional designs. The device is free from click/pop noise during shutdown and startup. It is offered in a 3mm×3mm, 16-pin QFN-PP package, with an operating temperature range of -40℃ to +85℃.
