This is an 8-bit bidirectional level translator with configurable voltage translation and tri-state output, supporting bidirectional voltage level shifting. The device is optimized to operate with VCCA and VCCB set within the range of 1.65V ~ 5.5V. The A port is designed to track VCCA, which accepts any supply voltage in the range of 1.65V ~ 5.5V. The B port is designed to track VCCB, which accepts any supply voltage in the range of 1.65V ~ 5.5V. This enables universal low-voltage bidirectional translation between 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V voltage nodes. The device is designed for asynchronous communication between two data buses; the logic levels of the direction control (DIR) input and output enable (OE#) input are used to activate the B port outputs or A port outputs, or to place both output ports in high-impedance mode. When the B port outputs are activated, the device transmits data from the A bus to the B bus; when the A port outputs are activated, data is transmitted from the B bus to the A bus. The input circuits on both the A port and B port are always active and must be driven to a logic high or low level to prevent excessive ICC and ICCZ currents.
