Overview
The LM4871 is a monophonic bridge-tied load audio power amplifier. Powered by a 5V supply, it delivers 3W of continuous average power into a 3Ω load with THD+N below 10%. To conserve power in portable devices, the shutdown pin can be driven high to place the device into a low-power shutdown mode with a typical quiescent current of only 0.6μA. This amplifier is designed to deliver high-power, high-fidelity audio output over a supply voltage range of 2.0V to 5.0V, requiring minimal external components. The elimination of output coupling capacitors, bootstrap capacitors, and impedance matching networks makes it ideal for low-power portable systems. In addition, the LM4871 features thermal shutdown protection, unity-gain stability, and externally configurable gain.
