The LMH3401 is an ultra-high-performance differential amplifier optimized for radio frequency (RF), intermediate frequency (IF), or high-speed time-domain applications. This device is well-suited for DC-coupled or AC-coupled applications that require single-ended to differential conversion when driving analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The LMH3401 generates very low second- and third-order distortion when operating in single-ended input to differential output mode or differential input to differential output mode. On-chip resistors simplify printed circuit board (PCB) implementation and enable the highest performance within an available bandwidth of 2 GHz. This performance makes the LMH3401 ideal for applications such as test and measurement, broadband communications, and high-speed data acquisition. The device provides a common-mode reference input pin to match the amplifier output common mode to the ADC input requirements. This device operates with a supply voltage between 3.3 V and 5.0 V and supports dual supplies to meet specific application needs. This level of performance is achieved with a very low power consumption of 275 mW using a 5.0-V supply. A power-down feature also enables energy savings. The LMH3401 is fabricated using an advanced complementary BiCMOS process and is available in a space-saving 14-pin ultra-thin quad flat no-lead (UQFN) package. It is specified for operation over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
