Overview

The LMH6881 is a high-speed, high-performance, programmable differential amplifier. This device features a 2.4GHz bandwidth and high linearity of 44dBm OIP3, making it suitable for various signal conditioning applications. The LMH6881 programmable differential amplifier combines the advantages of a fully differential amplifier and a variable gain amplifier. It provides excellent noise and distortion performance across the entire gain range without the need for external resistors. Therefore, a single device and a single design can meet the requirements of multiple applications with different gain settings. The LMH6881 is an easy-to-use amplifier that can replace both fully differential, fixed-gain amplifiers and variable gain amplifiers. It does not require any external gain setting components and supports gain settings in the range of 6dB to 26dB (with a small and precise gain step of 0.25dB). The LMH6881 has an input impedance of 100Ω and can easily drive various sources such as mixers or filters. It also supports 50Ω single-ended signal sources and both DC and AC coupling applications. With parallel gain control, the LMH6881 can be soldered with a fixed gain, eliminating the need for any control circuits. If dynamic gain control is required, the LMH6881 can be changed via serial commands through the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) or parallel pins. The LMH6881 is fabricated using a proprietary silicon-germanium complementary process and comes in a space-saving, thermally enhanced 24-pin Wafer-Level Quad Flat No-Lead (WQFN) package. A dual-channel version, the LMH6882, is also available for this amplifier.
