Overview
The LP38690/2 low-dropout CMOS linear regulators offer tight output tolerance (2.5% typical), very low dropout (450mV at 1A load current with V<sub>diff u</sub> = 5V), and excellent AC performance with ultra-low ESR ceramic output capacitors. The low thermal resistance of the WSON, SON-223, and PFM packages enables full operating current at elevated ambient temperatures. The use of a PMOS power transistor eliminates the need for DC base drive current biasing, keeping ground pin current below 100μA regardless of load current, input voltage, or operating temperature.
