LT1997-1 is a difference amplifier designed to amplify small differential signals while rejecting large common-mode signals, making it ideal for current sensing applications. It integrates a precision op amp and high-accuracy matched resistors into a single-chip solution that accurately amplifies voltage and performs level shifting without external components. Three pin-selectable standard gain options (10, 20, and 50) are available, which can be further combined to achieve gains ranging from 0.141 to 80 with 0.012% (120ppm) accuracy. The LT1997-1 also operates with input voltages from V– to V– + 76V (independent of V+), enabling robust operation in demanding industrial environments. Its excellent resistor matching delivers CMRR greater than 109dB (gain = 10). Resistors remain well matched across the full temperature range, with a guaranteed matching temperature coefficient of less than 1ppm/°C. The highly linear resistor-to-voltage relationship yields gain nonlinearity of less than 2ppm. The LT1997-1 is rated for 5V and ±15V supplies, specified over a –40°C to 125°C operating temperature range, and is available in space-saving 16-lead MSOP and 4mm × 4mm DFN14 packages.
