MAX13485EIDQ2/TR-HG

MAX13485 is a 3.0V to 5.5V, +15kV ESD-protected RS-485/RS-422 transceiver comprising one driver and one receiver. The device features a failsafe circuit that guarantees a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open-circuited, short-circuited, or connected to a terminated transmission line with all drivers disabled. When all transmitters on the terminated bus are disabled (high-impedance), the receiver outputs a logic high. MAX13485 includes a hot-plug capability that eliminates false transitions on the bus during power-up or hot-insertion. The driver features a reduced slew-rate design to minimize EMI and reduce reflections caused by improper cable termination, supporting error-free data transmission up to 1Mbps. The device is well-suited for half-duplex communications, with a supply current of only 0.5mA when unloaded or with the driver disabled under full load. Its receiver input impedance is 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers on the bus. MAX13485 is available in SOP-8 and DFN-8 packages.
