MAX1487EESA-TD

MAX1487EESA-TD is a 3.3V, half-duplex, low-power RS-485 transceiver that fully complies with TIA/EIA-485 standard requirements. The device integrates one driver and one receiver, both of which can be independently enabled and disabled. When both are disabled, the driver and receiver outputs are in a high-impedance state. The MAX1487EESA-TD features a 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 32 transceivers of this type to be connected on the same communication bus, enabling error-free data transmission at up to 10Mbps. The device operates over a supply voltage range of 3.0V to 3.6V and provides failsafe, over-temperature protection, current-limiting protection, and overvoltage protection. The standard receiver input impedance is 12kΩ (1 unit load), while this transceiver's receiver features a 1/8 unit load input impedance (96kΩ), allowing up to 32 transceivers to be connected in parallel on a single bus. To prevent excessive output current and power dissipation caused by faults or bus contention, two protection mechanisms are employed: first, fast short-circuit protection (overcurrent protection) across the entire common-mode voltage range; second, a thermal shutdown circuit that forces the driver output into a high-impedance state when the junction temperature exceeds 140°C.
