Overview
The MAX3491E is a 3.0V to 5.5V, full-duplex, low-power RS-485/RS-422 transceiver that fully complies with the TIA/EIA-485 standard. The MAX3491E includes one driver and one receiver, both capable of transmitting signals independently. The MAX3491E features 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 MAX3491E transceivers to be connected in parallel on the same communication bus. It supports error-free data transmission at rates up to 12Mbps. The MAX3491E operates over a supply voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V, with failsafe protection, current-limiting protection, and overvoltage protection. The MAX3491E offers excellent ESD immunity, with HBM up to ±15kV.
