Overview
MAX487ESA is a transceiver IC for RS-485 and RS-422 communication systems, supporting data transmission and reception at rates up to 250Kbps. The MAX487 is a half-duplex RS-485 interface chip featuring Driver Enable (DE) and Receiver Enable (/RE) control pins. The MAX487ESA receiver is designed with 1/4 unit load input impedance, allowing up to 128 loads on the bus. This high-speed transceiver for RS-485/RS-422 communication integrates one driver and one receiver. The MAX487 incorporates a slew-rate-limited driver to minimize EMI and reflections caused by improper cable termination, achieving data transmission rates up to 250Kbps.
