The MCP649x series single, dual, and quad op amps represent a new generation of precision, low-power op amps. This family features rail-to-rail input and output (RRIO) swing, low quiescent current (typical 720μA), combined with wide bandwidth (9MHz) and very low noise (12nV/√Hz at 1kHz), making them well suited for a variety of battery-powered applications requiring a good balance between cost and performance, such as audio output, motor phase current sensing, photodiode amplification, barcode scanners, and white goods. Low input bias current enables use in applications with megaohm-level source impedances. The robust design of the MCP649x amplifiers provides ease of use for circuit designers: unity-gain stability with capacitive loads up to 500pF, integrated RF/EMI rejection filter, no phase reversal under overdrive conditions, and high ESD protection (5kV HBM). The MCP649x amplifiers are optimized to operate from as low as +2.0V (±1.0V) to as high as +5.5V (±2.75V) over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The MCP6491 (single) is available in SOT23-5 and SOP-8 packages. The MCP6492 (dual) is available in SOP-8 and MSOP-8 packages. The quad MCP6494 is available in SOP-14 and TSSOP-14 packages.
