RS485

The RS485 series are low-power transceivers for RS-485 and RS-422 communications, each containing one driver and one receiver. The RS485 features an unslew-rate-limited driver capable of achieving data rates up to 2.5Mbps, designed for half-duplex applications. The RS485 operates from a single 5V supply and provides Driver Enable (DE) and Receiver Enable (RE) pins. The driver incorporates short-circuit current limiting and a thermal shutdown circuit that places the driver outputs in a high-impedance state to prevent excessive power dissipation. The receiver inputs feature a failsafe design that guarantees a logic-high output when the inputs are open-circuited.
