Overview
The SLMi335 isolated gate driver is an advanced optocoupler-compatible single-channel isolated gate driver for SiC/IGBT applications, featuring active protection functions such as desaturation detection, UVLO, isolated fault sensing, and active Miller clamp. The driver delivers 4A peak output current with automatic fault reset capability. For devices without the H suffix, the default desaturation threshold is 6.5V; for devices with the H suffix, it is 9V. The input-side supply operating voltage range is 3V to 18V, and the output-side supply allowable range is 14V to 40V. All supply voltage pins are protected by UVLO. Internal desaturation fault detection identifies whether the IGBT is in an overcurrent condition. When the desaturation function is triggered, the fault signal crosses the isolation barrier, pulling the FAULT output on the input side low and blocking the isolator input. When the IGBT turns off during normal operation with a bipolar output supply, the output is clamped to VEE. If the output supply is unipolar, the active Miller clamp can be used to provide a low-impedance discharge path for Miller current, preventing the IGBT from being dynamically turned on under high-voltage transient conditions. The input side and output driver are separated by a 5kVrms reinforced isolation barrier with a minimum common-mode transient immunity of 150kV/μs.
