These devices expand the RS-485 product portfolio, which includes a family of full-duplex transceivers featuring robust 3.3V drivers and receivers with advanced ESD protection. ESD protection includes >±30kV HBM and >±12kV IEC61000-4-2 contact discharge. The larger receiver hysteresis of the SN65HVD7x devices suppresses conducted common-mode noise, and their wide operating temperature range maintains reliability in harsh environments. SN65HVD7x devices are available in standard SOIC and small MSOP packages. Each of these devices integrates one differential driver and one differential receiver, both powered by a single 3.3V supply. Each driver and receiver has separate input and output pins for full-duplex bus communication designs. These devices feature a wide common-mode voltage range, making them ideal for multipoint applications over long cables. The SN65HVD71, SN65HVD74, and SN65HVD77 devices are always enabled with no external enable pins required. The SN65HVD70, SN65HVD73, and SN65HVD76 devices feature an active-high driver enable and an active-low receiver enable. Disabling both the driver and receiver yields a low standby current of less than 5μA. These devices are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
