Overview
The 74LS595 contains an 8-bit shift register with asynchronous reset input and an 8-bit latch with outputs. On each low-to-high transition of the shift clock, serial data is shifted into the internal shift register. On the low-to-high transition of the latch clock, the latch captures the 8-bit data from the shift register. The shift register also provides a serial output.
