Overview
The ST485CDR is a transceiver IC for RS-485 and RS-422 communication systems. The IMN485 supports data transmission rates up to 2.5Mbps for both transmit and receive. The 485 operates in half-duplex mode. In addition, the 485 features Driver Enable (DE) and Receiver Enable (RE) pins; when disabled, both driver and receiver outputs are high-impedance. The ST485CDR incorporates fail-safe protection. When in receive mode, the receiver output remains high when the input is open-circuited or short-circuited.
