TCA9803DGKR

The TCA9803 is a dual-channel bidirectional buffer suitable for I²C bus and SMBus/PMBus systems. It provides bidirectional level conversion between low voltages (down to 0.8V) and higher voltages (1.65V to 3.6V). The TCA9803 has an internal current source on the device's side B, so no external pull-up resistors are required on side B. This current source also provides improved rise time and ultra-low power consumption. The TCA9803 can provide true buffering (instead of a pass-FET solution) without using static voltage offset or incremental offset. This means that the low-level output voltage (VOL) on both side A and side B of the TCA9803 is extremely low (approximately 0.2V), which helps to eliminate communication problems caused by a fixed high-level input voltage (VIH) threshold. Another important feature of the TCA9803 is that there are no power sequencing requirements or power dependencies. The supply voltage on side A (VCCA) can be greater than, less than, or equal to the supply voltage on side B (VCCB). This allows system designers to use the TCA9803 flexibly. The TCA9803 is part of a product family consisting of four devices, each with a different current source strength.
