Overview

The TLC5973 is an easy-to-use, 3-channel, 50mA constant sink LED driver. This single-wire, 3Mbps serial interface (EasySet) provides a solution that minimizes wiring costs. The LED driver offers 12-bit pulse width modulation (PWM) resolution. The display repetition rate is achieved at 2.9kHz (typical) using an integrated 12MHz grayscale (GS) clock oscillator. This driver also provides unlimited cascading capability. All output constant sink currents can be set by an external resistor. The TLC5973 has an internal shunt regulator that can be used for applications with higher VCC supply voltages.
