The TLV757P low-dropout regulator (LDO) is an ultra-small, low quiescent current LDO capable of delivering 1A with excellent line and load transient performance. The TLV757P supports an input voltage range of 1.45V to 5.5V, optimized for a wide variety of applications. To reduce cost and solution size, the device offers fixed output voltages from 0.6V to 5V, a range that supports the lower core voltages of modern MCUs. In addition, the TLV757P features low quiescent current (IQ) and an enable function to minimize standby power consumption. The device incorporates an internal soft-start function to reduce inrush current. This feature provides a controlled voltage ramp to the load and minimizes input voltage droop during startup. During shutdown, the device actively pulls down the output for fast output discharge and provides a known startup state. The TLV757P remains stable with small ceramic output capacitors, enabling a compact overall solution size. The precision bandgap and error amplifier deliver a typical accuracy of 1%. All device versions integrate thermal shutdown, current limiting, and UVLO protection. The TLV757P features internal foldback current limiting, which helps reduce power dissipation during short-circuit events. The TLV757 is available in popular SON and SOT23-5 packages. The device is also offered in a thermally enhanced SOT23-5 package with an exposed thermal pad (DYD). This package provides significantly lower thermal resistance compared to the standard SOT23-5 package.
