TPS56524x is an easy-to-use, high-efficiency synchronous buck converter with high power density. The device comes in a SOT-563 package, supports an input voltage range of 3V to 16V, and delivers up to 5A continuous current. The TPS56524x uses D-CAP3 topology to provide fast transient response and support low-ESR output capacitors without external compensation. The device features two ground pins, GND and AGND; connecting them together yields optimal thermal performance. AGND also provides excellent load and line regulation. The device supports duty cycles up to 98%. The TPS565242 operates in ECO mode to maintain high efficiency during light-load operation. The TPS565247 operates in FCCM mode to maintain a consistent switching frequency and low output ripple across all load conditions. The device provides comprehensive protection via OVP, OCP, UVLO, OTP, and UVP (pulse-skipping mode). The device is available in a 1.6mm × 1.6mm SOT-563 package with an optimized pin layout that facilitates easy PCB layout. The rated junction temperature range is -40°C to 125°C.
