The TPS7A10 is an ultra-small, low quiescent current LDO regulator capable of sourcing 300mA with excellent AC performance (load and line transient response). The device features an input range of 0.75V to 3.3V and an output range of 0.5V to 3.0V, with a high accuracy of 1.5% over load, line, and temperature. This performance makes it ideal for powering lower modern MCU core voltages and analog sensors. The main power path passes through VIN, which can be connected to a supply as low as 70mV above the output voltage. The device uses an additional VBias supply rail to power the LDO's internal circuitry, enabling extremely low input voltages. VIN and VBias each draw an ultralow quiescent current of 1.6μA and 6μA, respectively. The low IQ and ultra-low dropout characteristics help improve solution efficiency in power-sensitive applications. For example, VIN can be the output of a high-efficiency DC/DC buck regulator, while the VBias pin can be connected to a rechargeable battery. The TPS7A10 incorporates an active discharge circuit to quickly discharge the output when disabled and provide a known startup state. The TPS7A10 is available in an ultra-small 5-pin DSBGA (YKA) package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. The device is also available in a 6-pin WSON (DSE) package.
