Overview

The TPS7A20 is an ultra-small low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator capable of delivering 300mA output current. The TPS7A20 is designed to provide low noise, high PSRR, and excellent load and line transient performance, meeting the requirements of RF and other sensitive analog circuits. Using innovative design techniques, the TPS7A20 achieves ultralow noise performance without the need for additional noise bypass capacitors. The TPS7A20 also features low quiescent current, making it well suited for battery-powered applications. With an input voltage range of 1.6V to 6.0V and an output voltage range of 0.8V to 5.5V, the device is applicable across a wide variety of applications. The device incorporates a precision reference circuit that provides up to 1.5% accuracy over load, line, and temperature variations. The TPS7A20 includes an integrated soft-start function to reduce inrush current, minimizing input voltage droop during startup. The device remains stable with small ceramic capacitors, enabling a smaller overall solution size. The TPS7A20 features an intelligent enable input circuit with an integrated controllable pull-down resistor that keeps the LDO disabled even when the EN pin is left floating, helping to eliminate the need for an external pull-down component on the EN pin.
