The TPS92664 LED matrix manager device enables a fully dynamic adaptive lighting solution by providing individual pixel-level LED control. The device's four integrated series switches each have four sub-strings, which can bypass individual LEDs. Each sub-string allows the device to accept single or multiple current sources. The TPS92664 features an internal oscillator. The internal oscillator can be shared with other system devices through the internal low-noise LVDS transmitter and receiver blocks. The multi-point universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) serial interface is compatible with TPS92665, TPS92667, TPS92662x, and TPS92663x devices. The internal EEPROM can store system default values as well as calibration and lighting module data. An on-board ADC with multiplexed inputs samples all LED channels, as well as the IC die temperature and LED current sense. The ADC also samples the dedicated ADC input, which can be used for system temperature compensation, LED grading, and encoding. The TPS92664 includes registers that can be used to program the phase shift and pulse width of individual LEDs in the string and report LED open-circuit, short-circuit faults, and functional parameters.
