TPT7487-SOBR

TPT7487 is an isolated RS-485 transceiver with ±15-kV IEC61000 ESD protection and an operating voltage range of 3.0V to 5.5V, compliant with RS-485 and RS-422 standards for half-duplex communication. TPT7488 is an isolated full-duplex RS-485 transceiver. This device family features a fail-safe receiver function that ensures a logic-high output when the receiver's differential inputs (bus pins A/B) are open-circuit, short-circuit, or idle. The transmitter in this family delivers excellent differential output voltage under the 54-Ω load required by RS-485. With extremely low bus current at 500-kbps data rates, these devices present a true "1/8 unit load" on the RS-485 bus, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on a network without repeaters. The receiver (Rx) input features a "full fail-safe" design, ensuring a logic-high Rx output when the Rx input is floating, short-circuited, or on a terminated bus with no active driver. The TPT748x family is available in a WSOP16 package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
