XLX487CSA

XLX487 is a low-power transceiver designed for RS-485 and RS-422 communications in harsh environments. Each driver output and receiver input can withstand ±15kV ESD without latch-up. These devices integrate one driver and one receiver. The XLX487 features a reduced slew-rate driver that minimizes EMI and reduces reflections caused by improperly terminated cables, enabling error-free data transmission at up to 250kbps. The transceiver supply current is as low as 120µA when unloaded or when the driver is disabled under full load. The driver incorporates short-circuit current limiting and is protected against excessive power dissipation by a thermal shutdown circuit that forces the driver outputs into a high-impedance state. The receiver inputs feature a failsafe function that guarantees a logic-high output when the inputs are open-circuited. The XLX487 features one-quarter unit load receiver input impedance, allowing up to 128 transceivers to be connected on the bus. The XLX487 is designed for half-duplex applications.
