Overview
This device provides an integrated brushed DC motor drive solution for battery-powered toys, low-voltage or battery-powered motion control applications. It integrates an H-bridge driver circuit designed with N-channel and P-channel power MOSFETs, suitable for driving a brushed DC motor or one winding of a stepper motor. The device features a wide operating voltage range of 2V to 9.6V, a maximum continuous output current of 1.5A, and a maximum peak output current of 3A. The device incorporates an overtemperature protection circuit. When the drive current significantly exceeds the maximum continuous current, the die junction temperature rises rapidly. Once it exceeds the 130°C typical setpoint, the internal circuitry immediately shuts down the output power transistors to cut off the load current, preventing safety hazards caused by continued temperature rise. The built-in thermal hysteresis circuit ensures that the device is allowed to resume control only after it has recovered to a safe temperature.
Applications
- Toy motor drive powered by 2~6 AA/AAA dry cell batteries
