The ADS9120 is a 16-bit, 2.5MSPS, successive approximation register (SAR) ADC with ±0.25 LSB INL and 96 dB SNR specifications under typical operating conditions. The high throughput enables developers to oversample input signals, improving dynamic range and measurement accuracy. The device supports unipolar, fully differential analog input signals and accepts an external reference voltage of 2.5V to 5V, providing a wide input selection range without requiring additional input conditioning. The device consumes only 15.5mW at full throughput of 2.5MSPS. At lower throughput rates, low-power modes (NAP and PD) are available for flexible power reduction. The integrated multiSPI™ serial interface is backward compatible with the traditional SPI protocol. In addition, the device's configurable features simplify board layout, timing, and firmware, while achieving high throughput at low clock speeds, enabling easy connectivity to various microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs. The device is available in a space-saving 4mm×4mm VQFN package, supporting JESD8-7A-compliant I/O and extended industrial temperature range.
