Overview
BDP4056 is a single-cell lithium-ion battery CC/CV linear charger IC with reverse battery protection. Housed in an ESOP8 package with minimal external components, it is ideal for portable applications and compatible with both USB and adapter power sources. The internal PMOSFET architecture and anti-backflow circuit eliminate the need for an external isolation diode. A thermal feedback loop automatically adjusts the charge current to limit die temperature under high-power or high-temperature conditions. When the input voltage is removed, the device automatically enters a low-current state with a typical battery leakage current of less than 1uA. Additional features include battery temperature sensing, UVLO, automatic recharge, and two LED pins for charge status and end-of-charge indication.
