Overview
The bq27742-G1 device is a fuel gauge designed for single-cell lithium-ion battery packs. This fuel gauge utilizes the patented Impedance Track™ technology to predict the remaining battery capacity with the highest accuracy, compensating for rate, temperature, and aging effects on system operation. The device also features a fully integrated high-side protector, enabling a comprehensive set of high-precision fault detections for overvoltage, undervoltage, overcharge current, over-discharge current, and discharge short-circuit conditions without the need for a separate lithium-ion protection circuit. The hardware protection function offers built-in data flash programmability, facilitating the reconfiguration of existing devices to meet different end-device requirements. This fuel gauge provides information such as remaining battery capacity (mAh), state of charge (%), remaining runtime (minutes), battery voltage (mV), current (mA), and temperature (°C), as well as important parameters recorded throughout the battery's lifespan. The device also supports interrupting the host to indicate the detection of various critical fault conditions and report them to the system. The DSBGA comes in a 15-ball package (2.78mm×1.96mm), making it ideal for space-constrained applications.
