The bq3060 battery management system is a fully integrated single-chip, stacked solution that provides comprehensive charge measurement, protection, and authentication functions for lithium-ion battery packs with 2, 3, or 4 series-connected batteries. The bq3060 comes in a compact 24-pin TSSOP package with dimensions of only 7.8mm x 6.4mm, which can maximize functionality and safety in smart batteries while significantly reducing the cost and size of the solution. Through its integrated, high-performance analog peripherals, the bq3060 measures and maintains accurate records of available capacity, voltage, current, temperature, and other key parameters in lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries, and reports the information to the system host controller via an SMBus 1.1 compatible interface. The bq3060 provides software first-level and second-level overvoltage, undervoltage, overtemperature, and overcharge safety protection, as well as hardware over-discharge, overcurrent, charge short-circuit, and discharge protection.
