Overview
The bq76PL455A device is an integrated 16-cell battery monitoring and protection device designed for high-reliability automotive applications. With an integrated high-speed, differential, capacitively isolated communication interface, up to sixteen bq76PL455A devices are allowed to communicate with the host through a single high-speed Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) interface. The bq76PL455A can monitor and detect a variety of different fault conditions, including overvoltage, undervoltage, overheating, and communication faults. The device includes six General-Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) ports and eight analog Auxiliary Analog-to-Digital Converter (AUX ADC) inputs for additional monitoring and programmable functions. In addition, it also has an auxiliary thermal shutdown function to further enhance its own protection.
