Overview
The CD4040B is a 12-stage ripple-carry binary counter. The counter advances one count on each negative transition of the clock pulse. The counter can be reset to the zero state independently of the clock by a logic "1" at the reset input.

- Wide supply voltage range: 1.0V ~ 15V
- High noise immunity: typical 0.45 VDD
- Low-power TTL compatibility: drives 2× 74L or 1× 74LS
- Medium-speed operation: typical 8 MHz at VDD = 10V
