Overview
The DRV824x-Q1 series devices are fully integrated H-bridge drivers for a wide range of automotive applications. The device can be configured as a single full-bridge driver or two independent half-bridge drivers. Designed using a BiCMOS high-power process technology node, this monolithic device family in a power package delivers compact form factor, ease of layout, EMI control, precise current sensing, robustness, and diagnostic capability, while offering excellent power handling and thermal performance. The series provides identical pin functions and scalable RDS(on) (current capability) to support different loads. These devices integrate an N-channel H-bridge, charge pump regulator, high-side current sensing with regulation, current proportional output, and protection circuitry. A low-power sleep mode is provided for low quiescent current. These devices offer voltage monitoring and load diagnostics, along with protection against overcurrent and overtemperature conditions. Fault status is indicated via the nFAULT pin. These devices are available in three variants: hardwired interface HW (H) and two SPI interface variants SPI (P) and SPI (S), where SPI (P) is used when logic power is supplied externally and SPI (S) is used when logic power is generated internally. The SPI interface variants provide greater flexibility in device configuration and fault monitoring.
