EA4021 is a highly integrated 28V 1A single-cell lithium-ion battery linear charge management controller. The charging process consists of three stages: trickle charge, constant current, and constant voltage, requiring no external sense resistors, isolation diodes, or MOSFETs. Thermal feedback regulates the charge current to limit the die temperature during high-power operation or high-temperature environments, maximizing the charge rate without risk of overheating. The charge current is programmable via an external resistor. When the battery voltage reaches the final cutoff voltage and the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value, EA4021 automatically terminates the charge cycle. If the battery voltage falls below the internal recharge threshold, charging restarts automatically. The device integrates a battery reverse-polarity protection circuit to prevent damage caused by reversed battery connections. EA4021 provides a charge status indicator pin and a charge complete status indicator pin; used together, they can also indicate other fault conditions. This product is certified to IEC 62368-1:2018.
