FH8223G2

The FH8223G2 series is a high-precision protection circuit with built-in MOSFETs designed for single-cell rechargeable lithium batteries. It integrates overcharge protection, overdischarge protection, and overcurrent discharge protection into a single device. Under normal operating conditions, the VDD pin voltage of the FH8223G2 is between the overcharge protection threshold (VOC) and the overdischarge protection threshold (VOD), and the VM sense pin voltage is between the charger detection voltage (VCHG) and the overcurrent discharge protection threshold (VEDI). In this state, the FH8223G2 turns on both the built-in N-MOS transistor M1 and the discharge control N-MOS transistor M2, allowing the battery to be charged via a charger or discharged through a load. The FH8223G2 provides overcharge/overdischarge protection by monitoring the VDD or VM pin voltage relative to VSS. When an overcharge or overdischarge condition is detected, the built-in M1/M2 transitions from on to off, halting the charge or discharge process. For each protection state, the FH8223G2 has a corresponding recovery condition. Once the recovery condition is met, M1/M2 transitions from off to on, returning the device to normal operation. A delay time is defined for each protection and recovery condition. Protection or recovery is only triggered after the corresponding condition persists for the specified delay period. If the condition clears before the delay time elapses, the protection or recovery state will not be entered. The FH8223G2 is available in a DFN2X3-6L package with an integrated RC network and built-in MOSFETs, making it particularly suitable for battery-powered systems where board space is limited.
