These devices are designed to withstand overvoltage faults such as direct short circuits to the supply rail, miswiring, connector failures, cable crushing, and accidental tool contact. They are also robust against ESD events, providing high-level protection compliant with the human body model specification. These devices integrate a differential driver and a differential receiver, powered by a single supply. The driver differential output and receiver differential input are internally connected to form a bus port suitable for half-duplex (two-wire bus) communication. The cable-invert pin allows active correction of wiring errors that may occur during installation. When a communication error is detected, the user can apply a logic high to the invert pin, effectively reversing the polarity of the differential bus port to correct swapped bus wires. These devices feature a wide common-mode voltage range, making them suitable for multipoint applications over long cable runs. The devices operate over a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
