HTP4054

The HTP4054 is a complete single-chip linear power management IC for lithium-ion battery constant-current/constant-voltage charging. Its slim profile and compact package make it ideal for portable applications. Designed to comply with USB power specifications, the chip requires no external sense resistors or blocking diodes thanks to its internal MOSFET architecture. A thermal feedback mechanism regulates the charge current to limit die temperature during high-power operation or elevated ambient temperature conditions. The charge voltage is fixed at 4.24V, while the charge current is programmable via an external resistor. The charge cycle terminates automatically when the battery voltage reaches the target value and the charge current drops to one-tenth of the programmed value. When the input power source (such as an adapter or USB) is removed, the chip automatically enters a low-power state, reducing battery leakage current to below 2μA. The chip can also be placed in shutdown mode, in which the supply current drops to 25μA. Additional features include charge current monitoring, input undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and charge status and charge initiation indication.
