Overview
JSM4054R is a constant-current/constant-voltage cradle charger IC, primarily designed for single-cell lithium battery charging. No external sense resistor is required, and its internal MOSFET structure eliminates the need for an external reverse diode. At high power levels and elevated ambient temperatures, the JSM4054R automatically adjusts the charging current to limit the die temperature. The charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and the charge current is programmable via a single external resistor. When the float voltage is reached and the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value, the JSM4054R automatically terminates the charging process. When the input voltage is removed, the JSM4054R automatically enters a low-current mode, drawing less than 2µA from the battery. In standby mode, the supply current is less than 25µA. The JSM4054R also monitors charge current, features voltage detection and automatic recharge, and provides a status pin indicating charge termination and input voltage status.
