Overview
LY4054 is a single-cell lithium-ion battery CC/CV linear charger IC with reverse battery protection. It requires minimal external components, making it suitable for portable applications, with a maximum charge current of 800mA. The IC employs an internal PMOSFET architecture with integrated reverse-charge prevention circuitry, eliminating the need for an external isolation diode. A thermal feedback loop automatically adjusts the charge current to limit the IC temperature under high-power or high-temperature conditions. When the input voltage is removed, the IC automatically enters a low-current state with a typical battery leakage current of less than 1μA. Additional features include battery temperature monitoring, UVLO, automatic recharge, and charge status indication.
