Overview
The OPA172, OPA2172, and OPA4172 (OPAx172) belong to a family of 36V, single-supply, low-noise operational amplifiers. These amplifiers can operate within a power supply range from +4.5V (±2.25V) to +36V (±18V). This latest addition to the high-voltage CMOS operational amplifier family, when paired with the OPAx171 and OPAx170, offers users a wide range of bandwidth, noise, and power options to meet the needs of various applications. The OPAx172 comes in a tiny package and provides low offset, drift, and quiescent current. These devices also offer wide bandwidth, fast slew rate, and high output current drive capability. The single-channel, dual-channel, and quad-channel versions all have the same technical specifications to maximize design flexibility. Unlike most operational amplifiers that are rated to operate at only one power supply voltage, the OPAx172 family is rated to operate within a voltage range from +4.5V to +36V. Input signals exceeding the power supply rails do not cause phase reversal. The inputs can operate normally 100mV below the negative power supply rail and within 2V of the positive power supply rail. Note that these devices can operate with full rail-to-rail inputs up to 100mV above the positive power supply rail, but performance may be affected when operating within 2V of the positive power supply rail. The OPAx172 family of operational amplifiers is rated to operate within a temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.
