The SCS5090 is a boost charging management IC designed for 5V USB input, supporting two-cell series-connected lithium or lithium-ion batteries. It integrates power MOSFETs and adopts an asynchronous switching architecture operating at 500KHz, achieving a conversion efficiency of up to 90%. The IC features a built-in adaptive loop that intelligently adjusts the charging current to match different adapters, preventing adapter output voltage droop. The maximum charging current is 1.8A, with integrated NTC thermistor functionality and 30V overvoltage protection. An internally integrated high-voltage transistor enhances reliability across various complex application conditions. Minimal external components are required, helping to reduce overall solution size and BOM cost.
