Overview
SCT53600 is an ideal diode controller that pairs with an external N-channel MOSFET to form an ideal diode rectifier, enabling low-loss reverse polarity protection as a replacement for Schottky diodes. The device operates over a wide voltage range of 4.7V to 65V, withstands and protects loads against negative supply voltages as low as -65V, and blocks reverse current — helping simplify system protection design in compliance with automotive ISO7637. The controller provides a charge pump gate drive for the external N-channel MOSFET, regulating the forward voltage drop across the external MOSFET to 20mV for smooth, ringing-free operation, while delivering ultra-fast (less than 0.75μs) MOSFET turn-off during reverse events such as power supply failures or input micro-short conditions to minimize reverse current. Its fast response to reverse current blocking makes it suitable for systems with output voltage hold-up requirements during ISO7637 pulse testing. The SCT53600 draws only 1μA in shutdown mode, helping extend battery life. The device is available in a TSOT23-6 package.
