SD5054

SD5054 is a complete single-chip linear power management IC for lithium-ion battery constant-current/constant-voltage charging. Its SOT package and minimal external components make it ideal for portable applications, and the SD5054 is specifically designed to comply with USB power supply specifications. Based on an internal MOSFET architecture, no external sense resistors or isolation diodes are required. When the ambient temperature is too high or during high-power operation, thermal feedback automatically reduces the charge current to lower the die temperature. The charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and the charge current can be set via an external resistor. When the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value after reaching the final float voltage, the SD5054 automatically terminates the charge cycle. When the input (adapter or USB power) is disconnected, the SD5054 automatically enters a low-current state, reducing battery leakage current to below 2μA. The SD5054 can also be placed in a shutdown state, reducing supply current to 125μA. Additional features include: charge current monitoring, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and a status pin indicating end-of-charge.
