The ABT540 octal buffer and line driver is suitable for driving bus lines or buffering memory address registers. The inputs and outputs of this device are located on opposite sides of the package, facilitating PCB layout. The three-state control gate is a 2-input AND gate with active-low inputs, so if either output-enable (OE1 or OE2) input is high, all corresponding outputs are in the high-impedance state. To ensure the high-impedance state is maintained during power-up or power-down, OE should be connected to VCC through a pull-up resistor; the minimum resistor value is determined by the sink current capability of the driver. The SN74ABT540 operates over a temperature range of -40℃ to 85℃.
