The TLC555 is a CMOS RC timer that offers significantly improved performance compared to standard SE/NE555 and 355 timers, while serving as a direct replacement in most applications. Improvements include lower supply current, wider operating supply voltage range, lower threshold, trigger and reset currents, no supply current crowbarring during output transitions, higher frequency performance, and no need to decouple the control voltage for stable operation. Specifically, the TLC555 is a stable controller capable of producing precise time delays or frequencies.
