TP4057X is a complete single-cell lithium battery charger IC with 500mA charge current, featuring battery polarity reversal protection and input power polarity reversal protection. It employs trickle, constant current, and constant voltage control. The SOT23-6 package with minimal external components makes it an ideal choice for portable applications, compatible with both USB power and adapter power sources. The internal PMOSFET architecture combined with an anti-reverse charging circuit eliminates the need for external sense resistors and isolation diodes. Thermal feedback automatically adjusts the charge current to limit the chip temperature. The full-charge voltage is 4.2V; the charge current can be set externally via a resistor, and charging terminates automatically when the battery reaches the preset voltage and the charge current drops to 1/10 of the programmed value. When the input voltage is removed, the device automatically enters a low-current state with battery leakage current below 1μA. Additional features include power supply adaptability, undervoltage lockout, automatic recharge, and two status pins.
