A single-cell, fully integrated CC/CV linear lithium battery charging IC with 32V input voltage rating and maximum charging current up to 600mA. Housed in a compact package with minimal external components, it is especially suited for handheld device applications. The charging process consists of three stages: pre-charge to recover deeply discharged batteries; constant-current charging for rapid capacity replenishment; and constant-voltage charging to fully charge the battery. The IC features built-in thermal foldback, which reduces charging current when temperature reaches the set threshold to minimize heat dissipation. With an integrated power transistor, no external current-sense resistor or reverse-blocking diode is required. It supports battery reverse-polarity protection — the IC will not be damaged even if the battery is connected in reverse. The constant-current charge current is adjustable via an external resistor. After the battery is fully charged, the IC continuously monitors battery voltage and automatically restarts charging when the voltage drops below the set threshold.
